The Representation of the Faroe Islands in Washington D.C.
The Representation of the Faroe Islands to the United States of America is located in Washington D.C., House of Sweden, in Georgetown.
The mission of the Representation of the Faroe Islands in Washington D.C. is to bolster the interests of the Government of the Faroe Islands to the US, and where relevant to represent the interests of private undertakings in the US market.
The Faroe Islands and the United States of America have common strategic and economic interests in the North Atlantic and the Arctic and share a common understanding of the importance of a strong partnership based on common principles and values. The foundation of the cooperation between the Faroe Islands and the US is reflected in the partnership declaration concerning increased cooperation, adopted in 2020.
The Representation monitors important political developments in the US that can be relevant for the cooperation between the Faroe Islands and the United States and seeks to disseminate the knowledge about the Faroe Islands in the US and in so doing stressing the important knowledge vested in relevant Faroese persons and actors.
